Everything You Need to Know Before Getting a Brazilian/Bikini Wax
- Brazilian wax and sanitation must go hand-in-hand.
- Double-dipping the wax stick is never okay.
- Gloves must be worn
- The room should be clean, inviting, and relaxing
- The wax post should be cleaned regularly
- The wax temperature should be check over a gloved area... not the esthetician's bare skin.
- Your esthetician should not blow on the wax stick to cool down the wax. They should rotate the wax stick away from their body instead
- So, find a licensed Esthetician you can trust and feel comfortable with
- Brazilian waxing is an intimate service. Oftentimes, once you find someone you stick with them
- Let it grow. The ideal waxing length for hair? Is a quarter inch – which means – you should not shave 3 weeks prior to your Brazilian wax appointment…. (on average, hair grows about half an inch per month)
- Because hair grows in three phases... You should avoid shaving in-between your wax appointments
- Just take an Aspirin - it might help with the pain
- I prepare every new client by telling them to think of the absolute worst pain they've ever experienced... then, I remind them - it might get close
- Wear a skirt or lose clothing
- Practice your butterfly pose
- Prepare talking points to give you something else to concentrate on
- Know it’ll hurt
- And the pain is temporary
