6 self-care steps for a pandemic — always important, now essential

1. Acknowledge the turbulence
   • Ignoring the problem will not make it disappear. You have to acknowledge the problem and make a plan... where you want to be when it's all said and done. 
2. Fuel your body with healthy food
   • In times such as these, nutrition and healthy eating can easily fall to the side. However, if anything, it is more important than ever to appropriately fuel our bodies and to do so in a mindful way. We have increased physical and mental stress, and healthy eating is vital in supporting our immune system to keep away illness and recuperate faster if/when we become ill.
3. Move your body
   • Walk or dance around your house for at least 20 minutes everyday.
4. Prioritize sleep
   • I know it can be hard. Try to get at least 6 hours of steady sleep per day.
5. find/create ways to connect socially
   • Maybe try doing a virtual party with a close friend. Or Virtual Netflix and chill session with your friends.
6. Find ways to ease stress
   • One of my favorite ways to ease stress is to go for a long walk by the water. After my walk... I love to sit by the water sketch for 20-30 minutes then, write down (on paper) everything that comes to mind.
